Consider IMDBPro

The Internet Movie Database, more affectionately known as IMDB, is a gold mine of free information on movie and TV stars. But if you want contact information (which usually means their agents, rather than the stars themselves), then you'll need to subscribe to IMDBPro at secure.imdb.com. But don't despair -- they have a free trial offer if you just want to give it a test run.

Look in Free Celebrity Directories

Free celebrity directories? Are there such a thing. Well, there are... sort of.

Do a Google search for 'The Celebrity Black Book 2005' (no need for actual quotes). The first few search results should include links to the book at Amazon.com and at Google Books. Both these sites will let you search the content of the book, and see many of the listing it contains. Once at the page featuring the book, just use the 'search inside the book' feature to search on the celebrity's name, and see what pops up. If one site doesn't do the trick, try the other.

1. Navigate to the celebrity's fan page or official website. Some celebrities will list their email address within these sites. Try looking for a contact or about section on the website.
2. Navigate to the celebrity's Myspace or Facebook page. Twitter

Writing to your favorite celebrities could become a favorite pastime and a way to express your appreciation and gratitude for their contribution to the arts. Whether you are looking for an autograph or just wanting to let her know your feelings, a well-thought-out letter and knowing the correct place to send it are helpful. Take part of an afternoon, sit down and write a letter to your much-loved actor, author or singer that will make her want to respond.

Purpose of Letter

• Decide the real reason you are trying to contact the celebrity. For example, are you looking for an autograph? What will you do with an autograph if you receive it? Hopefully, you are a true fan and you will keep it for yourself instead of selling it for a profit. You may be looking for a signed photo for a charity auction or event. If so, you need to communicate this in your letter. You may just want to write your thoughts and opinions to the celebrity or congratulate him on his awards or philanthropic efforts. You might send an item for him to sign such as a magazine cover, a photo or a poster. This is a bit risky as you may not get it back. Only send items you can live without. Whichever it is, be sure you know before you begin to write so you have a clear idea of what you are trying to achieve.

Construction of Letter

• Start by handwriting the letter as that makes it more personal. Soap-opera stars can receive mail at the studio where they film the show. Try sending the letter to the venue where actors and singers are performing a run of live shows at a specific theater. Website

• Often a professional website will include publicist's contact information. For example, if you are looking for the publicist or PR rep for a corporation, you can visit its main website and search under tabs such as "Media," "Press Inquiries," "News," or something similar. You will usually find the publicist's contact information if she is employed directly by the corporation, or a link leading to the public relations company's own website. The contact information might also be listed on the sidebar, header, footer or on the general "Contact Us," page.

Press Release

• Often a press release will have a contact listed either at the end of the press release or at the top of the release.
