Hello my name is Naomi Johnson, Deshon Johnson's mother, and I am looking to pass a bill honoring my son Deshon Johnson to make a positive change for other victims everywhere. I want the bill to focus on preventing tragic deaths. I know the bill will not be a remedy to bring back loved ones, but I would like it to implement safety awareness and jail time for the bus drivers. I want a memorial at the location where Deshon's life ended or a street adopted and named in Deshon's honor.
I am heartbroken every day thinking about how tragic Deshon’s death was. On the morning of July 18th, 2012 there is footage of Deshon Johnson patiently arriving to the seven eleven at 10:30am and waiting at the bus till the bus arrived at 10:48am.  Deshon was patiently waiting at the bus stop to go to work. When the bus finally arrived instead of looking for passengers the bus driver speed through the green light and around the sharp corner. Deshon flagged the bus to stop, but the bus kept on going speeding around the corner and the bus never stopped to pick him up. So, Deshon walked a few steps down from the bus stop on the corner of Bay Ave and Broad Street. The bus back wheel jumped the handicap curb ramp knocking Deshon down. The Coach USA Bus driver driving an NJTranist bus dragged Deshon 50 to 100 feet to his death.

Deshon was not the only person that was killed by a bus driver, and no arrest or charges have been brought against the driver to this day.
On January 23, 2012 a Coach USA bus driver took 21 year old Christie Noble-Ross life who is a neighbor that lived on the same floor across the hall from Deshon Johnson. While Christie Nobel was on her way dropping her son of to day care. The bus was came around the corner on Main and South Harrison streets in East Orange killing her on impact.
These cases are dismissed and labeled as an accident and this needs to stop. When a bus is speeding on residential roads above the speed limit, and turning around the corner at a fast speed it should not be considered an accident. That is negligence and murder. Please help us bring justice for Deshon Johnson and bring an end to the abuse of the NJ Transit and Coach USA bus drivers putting our lives at risk everyday just to catch a bus.
In November 2012 the Johnson's Family civil lawyer Brad hired a criminal lawyer to be a liaison between the Prosecutor's office and the family to pass on new information. Needless to say, the lawyer failed to do his job, took our money and Deshon's killer walked free and his case was closed in Feb. 2013.
The criminal lawyer Saluti was refferred to us worked as an extension of the prosecutor's office.  Now the bus driver is back to work supporting his family but Deshon is unable to go back to his job to support his disable mother.

Back in July 13, 2013 an 8-month-old baby was struck and killed by NJ Transit bus driver. The bus driver was charged. After an accident involving a jitney bus in July, transportation union officials and politicians today pledged the girl's death will not be in vain. A few months later Assemblyman Vincent Prieto, started a “Angelie’s Law,” a state measure named after Angelie Paredes, the North Bergen girl killed on Boulevard East on July 30, would put the commuter bus industry under sharp new regulations. Assemblyman Vincent Prieto, who is set to become the state Assembly’s speaker in January, said passing the law will be one of his top priorities.
“Tragedies like this shouldn’t happen,” he said.
NJ Transit and the politician turn closed ears on Ms. Johnson requested and issues lay beforehand. They act as if Mr. Johnson life is of no impertinence.

Deshon Johnson was run down and killed at the age of 22, and though the family is convinced he was not "rushing" to catch the bus (he was early, as they say video proves), no charges were brought against the Coach bus driver in his death. At the time of his death, Deshon was working, attending college a

On this site is disturbing and compelling information how Essex County Prosecutor handles NJ Transit pedestrian death cases cause by one of their bus drivers. You must listen to this audio that is provided on Soulality blog. The prosecutor office deem these type of cases as fatality and bus accident when there is an innocent person life taken so the bus drivers will not be convicted with criminal charges. Also so they will not lose their jobs.
In true reality all of these cases should be trial under involuntary manslaughter or manslaughter depending on what state you live in or vehicular homicide. Some of these bus drivers continue to driver reckless with ignorance and arrogant behavior because they know they will not go to jail or lose their jobs. Since the bus company protect the bus driver all the time. Some of these bus drivers drive more than they supposed for overtime pay. http://soulality.blogspot.com/2014/03/essex-county-prosecutor-office-poor.html
