Spirit Keeping, Buying Spirits, Collecting Spirits, Adopting Spirits, Spirit Keeper, Paranormal Collector
For those who are unfamiliar with Spirit Keeping, and Spirit Keepers or Collectors, Spirit Keepers are people all around the world, all around the globe. People who come from many different backgrounds, religions, genders, ages, and lifestyles. These people believe in the existence of spiritual entities, the paranormal and metaphysical and believe that there is more taking place and existing beyond the ability of our mortal, human eyes can show us.
Spirit Keepers, Paranormal Collectors, and Spirit Collectors work with spirits through many different techniques, some of which are meditating, dream sequence and analysis, communication through astral travel, ceremonial magic, bonding, evoking and invoking, using pendulums, scrying, automatic writing, telepathy, visions, etc. Their spirits are welcomed with open arms and treated as members of their family. They take care of their spirits by leaving them offerings such as treats, incense, and raw gemstones, and recharge their spirits vessels often.
IS IT DANGEROUS OR EVIL?
It must be stated that although there are definitely various types of spiritual entities, some of which should be kept, and some of which should not, there are also different Arts that need to be considered. There are spirits that belong to the White Arts, the Black Arts, and the Dark Arts (Grey).
Going back to the question, ultimately when practiced and treated respectfully, no. There is nothing to fear in working with spirits, keeping them, collecting them, bonding with them, etc. However, it is very important that you select the type of spirit that you feel comfortable working with and that is best for your experience level. You will want to inquire to the Metaphysical Practitioner who has the spirit you are hoping to keep, as to what is required for bonding, whether they recommend the spirit for someone of your experience level, and whether or not the spirit was bound willingly. Here, on Moondancer Originals, you can be guaranteed that our spirits have agreed to be bound, willingly, and that the bondings were completed with the open binding technique. Should you treat your spirit poorly, he/she will leave you. It is that simple. Our spirits want to help but will not stay if they are treated wrongly, disrespected, etc. An open binding provides the right to be able to transfer the spirit to another vessel, as well as the spirit is okay with it, should the vessel break, or the master wish to honor the spirit by providing an even more beautiful vessel for the spirit to inhabit as a gift and a thank you.
Those who are well practiced and believers, know that Hollywood movies have really over-dramatized and added many special effects, and in some cases, like with werewolves, have really created an image of horror surround the entity. They have made out witchcraft, Wicca, and paganism to be a "scary" devil worshipping society, and that binding and conjuring are negative. As long as you are aware of how Hollywood has portrayed a very beautiful companionship that can be possible through respect and careful bonding with the ethereal realm, you will be fine.
When you are deciding what type of spirit you are hoping to keep and bond with, you can make your decision by first understanding the different classifications and temperaments of entities. A White Arts spirit, is an entity of only good, positive white light. They do no harm and are not even capable of doing harm. Dark Arts spirits, like the jinn, are much the same as humans. They can make the decision to do a good or bad thing. They make their decisions on their own. If you are worried about Djinn, ask the Meta Practitioner you are working with, whether the Jinn is a believer or non-believer. Djinn that believes in Allah, believe that they will be judged based on what decisions they make, and so they are more unlikely to make bad decisions. Black Arts spirits are those entities which primarily make decisions that are classified as bad, negative, dark, etc. You would ONLY want to adopt a spirit of the Black Arts if you are very experienced and want the spirit to do something for you that White and Dark Arts spirits would be unwilling to complete. Be careful when dealing with Black Arts spirits. We seldom to never offer a Black Arts spirit, but we will specifically note it's temperament and our classification for him/her should be offered one for our very experienced practitioners of magick.
Being well informed, reading and studying as much as you can, and asking questions will prepare you to start your magical journey into Spirit Keeping and collecting. No one "makes" you collect spirits, and you should not be "manipulated" to become a spiritual keeper unless you are certain you are ready to do so. Never fear to ask a question, be it to us, or another metaphysical practitioner, but please be sure that those whom you are asking for assistance or advice from are truly knowledgeable in what they are doing. They are several forums one can join on this journey to speak to one another, get advice, and gain friendship with others that can be very essential and enlightening. Just remember that not everyone on a forum is going to give you the "correct" info, rather, it is a good basis for understanding and communicating.
When working with White Arts, there is really nothing to fear at all, and not much to be wary of when working with Dark Arts spirits in the proper respectful manner. You would want to be careful and steer clear of bringing a Black Arts spirit into your home, however, unless you are entirely sure of what you are getting into.
Spirit Keeping is voluntary and willing on both ends. This means that you are willingly engaging in the part of being this spirits keeper, and the spirit has willingly allowed you to become their keeper. You are engaging in an open and trusting relationship and friendship. Like all friendships, it must be catered to, grown, and will rely on both you and the spirit to make it as beneficial as possible for both parties.
People of all walks of life, all backgrounds and religions welcome spirits into their lives, their families, their homes, etc. This is nothing to do with religion - it is simply a choice to partake or not to partake.
IS SPIRIT KEEPING SLAVERY?
Absolutely NOT. We cannot continue to say this enough. If you are NEW to this community, this world, and lifestyle, you may at first believe that by keeping spirits in items or bound to items, you are engaging in some sort of spiritual slavery. This is not at all the case. Spirits are willingly bound, and even when bound, they are not "stuck" inside your item, vessel, article of jewelry, etc. They are free to roam around. They come and go from their vessels. A good example of this is how you "choose" to purchase a home to inhabit. However, you do come and go from your home, go to work, go outside, go inside. Spirits treat their vessels in the same way. Sometimes they leave them to go do something, see something, get some air so to speak, etc. Spirits want to feel appreciated, fulfilled and loved in the same way as we want to be. They want those feelings of happiness, a sense of belonging, friendship and companionship, that they feel having a companion will bring to them. These relationships are beneficial on both sides. The bonding/binding done allows for the spirit to have easy access to you, a place to come to and a way to feel they belong to a family or person. We are not trapping spirits inside vessels, and genies are not stuck in bottles like you have seen in Hollywood. That is the movie industry. You are also able to use these vessels in the enchanting, spell casting, or enspelling, should you also want help with other things. Spellcasting is a wonderful magickal art that can also provide a good amount of help to the caster or beneficiary.
Being willing to keep a spirit, give them a home, or allow a spirit to come and be a part of your family makes them feel those feelings that they are wanted, loved, included, and needed. Many of us are familiar with those very same feelings, as we want those very same things in our lives and from our families and loved ones. This pleases the spirit and makes them willing to want to grant your wishes, help you with your problems and gain your friendship. Spirit entities, just like you and I, don't want to be forgotten or feel overlooked. By talking to a spirit, communicating and acknowledging their spirit, you are making them feel very good and making them feel that they belong somewhere.
We are helping to preserve and spread awareness of their culture, their existence, and paying our respects to those who have been here far before we have. This is about embracing and coexisting. This is about having respect for everyone and everything that exists. This is a part of spreading love and spreading peace.
